Hi all,

just cleaned me cc, thought i'd check the levels under the bonnet, checked the battery terminals and this is what i found -

any ideas on whats causing the growth of the blueish crystals on the NEGATIVE side of the battery, only added a headunit, 5 channel amp and 12 disc changer that would put extra load on the battery, had similar setups in all my cars and no problems with them ????

i know it was the cause of my none starting trouble as posted on here about january 2002, they replaced the negative lead when they eventually found the fault.

Lyndon.

I heard that vaseline/grease on the terminals stops that from happening..

As far as I know (dont quote me ) its corrosion of the terminal caused by the air...

Bit of a nightmare popping into tescos for vaseline though ;¬) worse than buying condoms I rekon !

your audio gears should have no problem. Should check it with an electrician.

on mine the clamp has a slightly flat edge leading down onto the positive wire for the rest of the car. i drilled a hole in mine and bolted the +ve wire onto that as a new +ve clamp would be about the cheapest option to replace should i sell the car and take the install out. i might be able post a pic tommorrow 01/11/06 if i remember.
They've taken everything that i've had to give and, They say its over man but i'm still here livin', I don't no what to do, I think that maybe, I'm in over my head.......
