ABS & ESP Warning light flashing

Post by d4nny777 »

Hi

I have a 2006 1.6 hdi 206cc. Its only done 55k and i have only purchased it yesterday (08.07.2012). I have only been out in it 3 times since getting it and the ABS light and the ESP Warning lights both flash up when you reach 60 mph and if you turn the ignition off it resets it and turns them off.

It also flashed the airbag light up but ihad just moved a seat and a friend told me that this is a common fault.

Any advise would be helpful....

I would take it to Peugeot but i think it would be a waste of money as it resets itself when it turns off.

Thanks
Danny

I wonder whether the hydraulic fluid for the brakes and clutch has ever been renewed. It is often overlooked. As it is hygroscopic, after 6 years on the original fluid you may have serious corrosion in the braking system. It is recommended to renew hydraulic fluid every 2 years.

As for the airbag light this happens on ours occasionally. A fiddle with the wiring under the seat always sorts it (or has done so far).

Hi Danny and welcome.
If you bought it from a dealer, take it back and make them fix it. If not, a good (pro) code reader should point you in the right direction.
