abs fault and break failure?!!

so my 206 cc 1.6 s seems to have a brake problem, when the car is turned on the abs light comes on and also flash's on the screen, however some times when driving and i apply the brake the brakes seem to fail, i apply them and there is a very strage resistance, it almost feels like the abs is trying to kick in but the car wont brake unless i release the pedal and re-apply. the day before i got the car it had its pads and handbrake cable changed could the garage of knocked somthing? i do plan on taking the car to a garage to have it looked at but would like to have a rough idea on what it could be so i do not get takin for a run around.

It sounds like the abs module on the pump. You need to get it code read to be sure.

I would have taken it back to the dealer/garage as soon as I noticed the problem ... especially brake problems ... they have a duty to make sure the car is road-worthy and safe .. and it doesn't sound it in your case ... :?
