So today after nearly a year of faultless ownership it happened!!
Went to pick the mrs up from work and put the roof down-everything was fine
Got to her workplace and went to put the roof up,it did everything as it should until the end
no final bong, motor carried on going and multiple bleeps in the car!!
So I tried opening the roof again and it went fine until the end
again no bong, motorcarried on and bleeps!!
So I out the roof back up and it did exactly the same,so I got out and pushed down on the boot lid
passenger side nothing car still bleeping
pushed down on the drivers side and heard a click and the beeping stopped
Got the mrs and put the roof down same again got out pushed the boot lid down and 'click' bleeps stopped so we drove home, got home put roof up and had to get out and press down on the boot lid 'click' bleeps stopped
So it would seem that the O/S boot latch isn't engaging properly
So now who has ideas what to try, should I give it a squirt of lube and see what happens,or what??
Well what can I say??

Re: Well what can I say??
Well I think I've found out the problem
It ooks like on of the cables has snapped that pulls the big latch part into place
Will know for deffo tomorrow as my mate (ex-pug mastertech) is gonna take a look for me
Just need to find out the cable cost(can't find it on service box!!)
Also gonna ask him how much he'd charge to fit the new cable (unless it's an easy diy job!!)

Re: Well what can I say??
Well went to see my mechanic mate(ex-pug mastertech!!)
Luckily the cable hadn't snapped,it'd come out of it's locating plate
which made it slack and due to the slackness it wouldn't pull the latch in place
He just wiggled the end back into place and that was it,everythings back as it should be
Thank god as the cables aren't available seperately you have to buy them in a pair with the locking mechanism and the price is a shocking £244!!

I went back to his house after the Grand Prix with a four pack of ice cold CarlingGrandadMonkey wrote:Well done. Hope you bought him a pint.
He told me he had to sort his garden out and when I returned he was sweating like a pig
weeding his driveway so the Carling was well appreciated
