Door Locks

Post by bobbyrobby »

Have 206 Independence (O5 Plate). NOT KEY FOB - but manual key. When trying to open both passenger and driver door, the key will not turn, hence cannot get into car (although the boot worked, so managed to crawl through there!!!).

The button in the interior will lock/unlock - it is purely the key from the outside of the car. Please help! :hyper: :love-thx:

Just phoned local dealer - they reckon it is the lock barrels (???) on both sides (???) - anyway - my dad is really quite mechanically minded, do you think he could do this job and save me some money? All tips gratefully received!

More likely to be key. I take it that key worked in the doors before?
Cheers Col.

Have tried main key and spare key - still nothing. Just bought the car (private buy) couple of weeks ago and spent all my hard saved money! If it didnt cost too much and wasnt too hard my dad would do it.

May of had a change of locks at some time in it's history. You can buy new door locks with keys, but they're not cheap. You could take out one of the door locks and take it to a locksmith to make a key to fit the lock.
Cheers Col.

You can get hold of the key code for a small fee from some of the guys on 206info.co.uk .. they have the software available to look up the ORIGINAL codes for key blanks, radio, etc ...

... but I will stress ORIGINAL codes .. if anything has been changed since, you'll probably never find the right ones ...
