Remote central Locking key

Hi all new member here and thought i'd ask the people who know a question.
I recently fell in love with and bought a second hand 206cc 1.6 on an 02 plate. I was handed 1 key which was a standard key not a fob/remote, and when i queried it i was told thats what it came with and it was done manually. Not long after i found out the alarm didn't seem to work and whilst reading various topics both online and in the Haynes manual everyone refers to using the remote key.......

Long story short, is an 02 plate 206cc supposed to have a key fob or not? Many thanks in advance.

mine came with 2 remote keys and is an 02 reg
i can't see why a car with a built in alarm wouldn't come with remote key's

Exactly what i thought! but that answers my question so many thanks Evilhamster, will look into getting a new fob key from peugeot soon as i remortgage my house
