Binacle display has failed.

Post by Ellie Day »

My 206 1.4 works fine etc but the binacle has failed. Thus there are no indications from the speedometer, temperature guage, fuel level nor do the hazard light s work. The car starts and runs ok and the indicators work but do not show on the dashboard. Apart from the clock ev erything elese works ok.e.g. electic windows. Its not a fuse so has me stumped and is currently stuming the local garage as well!

Hmm. Right on the changeover.
If yours is early model, then you will need to get binnacle repaired or changed.

If it is later model with BSI (your garage should be able to tell) then try a BSI reset
(search these forums. Iv'e posted how to do it. If you can't find it, I'll repost it for you)

If the BSI reset doesn't do the trick (try it a few times if it doesn't work 1st time) Then send BSI unit & binnacle (or just the binnacle if early model to these people http://www.bba-reman.com/uk/index.aspx
They will be able to test and repair as necessary.
The BSI is coded to your car so you can't just get another one.
Let us know how you get on.
Cheers Col.

Peugeot dealer will fit new parts and charge £££££££££££
Better if you could get original unit repaired.
Cheers Col.
