electrical fault

the battery sign flickers with the monitor that shows the time date etc,when i take the key out of the ignition. This lasts for a while but does go off when i put the key back in..?battery needs replacing. I have a 206 cc 2003,battery frm new :( :(

It may be the battery or it could be something else. I would try replacing the battery first though. If you still have the original, you have done well for it to last this long. A new one shouldn't cost more than £55 from a main dealer.

Are you sure it is not the key fob remote battery that needs renewing?

When you say "put the key back in" Do you mean simply inserted or do you mean turned to 1st position?
If the latter, it could be the alternator on it's way out.
If one of the diode packs fail it can set up a back feed from alternator. A good auto electrician can test it for you.

has this problem been sorted out guys, My wife has just presented me with the same symptons
. but she only has to put the key fob 'near' the ignition for it to stop . grrr
