To improve access to the R/H headlight, unclip the filler neck from the washer reservoir. You should be able to get at the bulbs after removing the dust cover (models with twin-filament bulbs), or on models with separate dipped and main beam bulbs, by releasing the retaining clip and removing the access cover from the rear of the headlight unit. Note the correct fitted location of the bulb before you take it out. On all models you'll need to have disconnected the wiring connector before unhooking the ends of the bulb retaining clip and releasing it from the rear of the headlight unit. Withdraw the bulb and replace with a new one. Don't touch the glass of the new bulb with your fingers, use a tissue or a clean cloth to handle it.
Good luck, Ron

Re: lamp change
mmm but how to remove the washer funnel?? I've been fiddling with it and cant see if it needs to be unscrewed or pulled or pushed and twisted etc or what. Aaaaaargh. Always some small obstacle in the way of fixing anything

Hi Rachel,
When you've done it you will kick yourself, it is THAT easy. I've just been out to the garage and timed myself on our 206cc. Once you've got the bonnet open and propped up it takes about 10 seconds.
Look closely at the filler neck. About 2/3rds the way down on the upper side of the neck you will see a flat lever with ridges on it. While applying slight downwards pressure on the end of the filler neck with your right hand (i.e. pushing the filler neck gently towards the reservoir), with your left hand use a finger to squeeze the lever in towards the neck itself. Still applying downward pressure on the neck and squeezing the lever in, give it a wriggle and the lever will go in thus releasing the clip. Then withdraw the filler neck by pulling it straight out of the reservoir.
To replace it, you will see a slot in the reservoir (the neck can only go in one way). Line the moulded neck correctly into the slot and push it straight into the reservoir until the clip engages.
Best of luck, these are really easy cars to work on for servicing generally speaking.
Have a super Christmas and a Happy New Year.
Regards, Ron
