firstly.......hi everyone :-)
well i did own a pug........and the log book is still in my name.......but 15th october some low life decided they wanted my baby but didnt want to buy one......so they stole mine! in less than a week (3 days to be precise) the police decided there was little chance of getting it back and closed the case and the insurance asked me to send my keys and paper work into them! i did this the following day so they would have recieved it on friday the 21st.........saturday the 22nd the police called to say they had found my car (a member of the public called them as it was blocking some garages) and could i sort out picking it up.........i met the recovery truck at the roadside and wow..............no back seat, no radio, no cd changer, no amp, no sun visors, no door cards, no glovebox door, no fuse cover, no wind sheild, jacket and boots in the boot.....gone........teddies my kids had bought.....gone....glasses to see where im going when im driving......gone,car seat covers (my little kitty)....gone dent in rear quarter scratch down drivers door........and thats just what i could see god only knows if it starts as i no longer have keys so couldnt check! roof was unclipped........police told me they normally steal the roof so perhaps they couldnt? am now waiting to see if the insurance company are going to fix her up for me or write her off :-(....seeing as i have no idea what any of the cost of replacing the parts is going to be or the labour involved i just have to wait..........shes a 2005 model and only has 28000 on the clock............not a happy 206cc owner!!! i know i should be happy shes been found but its heartbreaking to see what they have done and the not knowing if im going to get her back is killing me (ok bit over dramatic) anyone got any ideas how much insurance companies are willing to spend before they write a vehicle off???

Hi.......the insurance company have said its borderline if they write my baby off or fix her......I'm thinking if they catch the scum I can use his/her (im not sexist) skin to cover a new back seat lol I'd take great delight in slowly cutting it off!

I miss my car........especially as I'm now driving a Chevrolet spark 1.2 that I can run faster than it picks up speed! :-)

Lol still think you got a better deal than me with the courtesy car! The spark has no road handling at all.........turning corners has never been this slow even when I was a learner! Just keeping my fingers crossed for Monday with the insurance company god knows how I'm going to sleep at Night if I get her back lol loving your baby.........looks good.....but then again I'm biased cause I love pugs :-)

Lol Yeh you need white leather.........it does look better than the black leather........when I bought mine the salesman asked my preferences and I told him ' I'm not bothered so long as its blue with cream leather' lol ah well not long now till I find out what's going to happen.......if they write it off I'm very possibly looking at buying her back.......depending on price.......so long as mechanically she's sound! :-)

Have been told today my insurance company are writing my car off :-( so not happy now I have to wait see how much they think she's worth ........need to find comparisment low mileage car to argue my corner if they offer me cr*p money :-( and then need to find another car.......hopefully find out by end of week what they want for me to buy my baby back and fix her up myself

Go to the Whatcar and Parkers sites they have a free valuation
It lets you put in mileage and isn't too far from the Glass and CAP valuations
Do remember though that your insurance company WILL offer you an insulting price to start
DON'T accept the first offer always haggle tell them you've rang around various dealers and you're car would be worth around
£XXXX (this is where using What Car and Parkers comes in handy)

p.s You could also use the Glass's valuation on their site,it's not free,but Glass's are probably the most used in the motoring industry

thanks fatboyslim...........had a look and wow is all i can say.........ive rarely seen anyone able to buy a motor in the condition they say for their prices given lol.........today the insurance company finally made me an offer

....and i turned it down

they offered 4500 but i pointed out my car has full service history all old mots and reciepts excellent condition inside and out and 28000 on the clock!!!!! they said they will call me tomorrow after they have discussed it with their chief engineer and see if they can raise their offer......also asked what i was thinking and i told them 5500 so reckon they may knock up another couple of hundred but im still pretty angry about the whole thing! they said its being written off due to missing interior being too expensive to replace but mechanically it would seem ok and a small dent in rear quarter and small scratch along drivers door and they want 26% of salvage if i want to buy it back...............so now im trawling the internet to find out if i can get the parts for it and how much it will cost for me to do all but the body work myself its gotta be worth it to buy it back even if i then part exchange it for another one

we will see what happens tomorrow
