Its an expensive repair if the timing belt does go!
Mines on an 02 plate with 70k on the clock and i've already had it done....
It depends on engine size as well....
I remember someone saying they had changed the interval on the 2.0l engine to 100,000 miles or 10 years but the 1.6 engine stayed the same....

Anyway finghers crossed til next year!

Did our daughter's 2.0 CC earlier this year. Although the car only had 53000 on clock, it was ten years old and there was no indication of if it had ever been changed.

Bought the parts from buypartsby.co.uk and it took about 6 hours as I'd never done a twin-cam belt before. And I wanted to be very sure it was right I double and triple checked everything!

Well done gazza. Peace of mind for another 8 years and you know the job's been done properly. I guess you changed the water pump and coolant at the same time. Always a good idea.

Yes, same as the 1.4Hdi I did about three years back. Doubt if I'll leave it 8 years to change it again ... 5 maybe if she keeps it that long!

Next up a 2.0 Twinspark Alfa Romeo probably! But for that you do need special tools (camlocks and others). Also has a balance belt so three belts, several adjusters and a couple of idler wheels ...
