Hi!

Post by SarahJay_11 »

Hi guys,

206cc has been a car that I have wanted for years... Today, I officially took the plunge! (Granted it's only second hand, but I cant wait to drive it!) I've only ever had Ford Focus', so this is a new one for me!

Just thought I'd introduce myself, as I really think forums are a great source!

I cant wait to pick it up! I hope to speak to you soon! I'll put some photo's up once I have my new baby! :)

Welcome to the forum Sarah. Hope your "new" 206cc turns out to be a really good one and has been well looked after.

Make sure you read the owners manual thoroughly before you use it. Many of the problems that new owners have turn out to be self-inflicted.

We've had hardly any problem with ours in 5 years of ownership. Just a reversing light switch that failed. Replaced it myself - cost less than £10.

Thank you!

I pick her up tomorrow, and I'm so excited!! My old car is cleared of rubbish and personal artifacts... Ready to be traded in. I'm sure I'll miss the Focus, but I'm excited about my new addition! (Some people have babies... I, have cars and dogs - not really a winning combination in the 206!)

I'll hopefully put some pictures up tomorrow!

Finally got my new toy home this evening :D

I'm a little annoyed at the dealership though... When I got home, I was playing with the controls (as one does!), turns out the electrics don't work! (Well some don't!)... The roof goes down fine, and the drivers window is fine. But the passenger window doesn't open using the controls (and neither does the electric mirrors!) The window goes down when the roof does, and goes back up ok. But it wont open using the switch!!

I contacted the sales man, who told me to bring it on on Friday, but because I'm working, I can only take it in on Saturday. Unfortunately, the mechanics aren't working on Saturday, so it means I will have the car for less than 3 days, until I have to get a courtesy car until the mechanics are in to fix it! :x (Sarah is not a happy bunny about that!)

But so far, I'm loving this car!!

Thanks HB! I can't wait to really have a good proper play, and make her mine! I want to change the audio player, as that's a very basic one! (Must be the standard!) But I don't want to spend any money on her until they've fixed the electrics! Already researching into some changes I have in mind! :D

which stereo have you got?? Mines the original CD player & JBL outputs ... just be a bit careful (especially if you have the control stick on the steering wheel as some stereo's won't work with it!!) I have to say though i had a play about with my settings and it sounds proper cracking with the sub in the boot etc (and the hood down of course ) :D
I hope the customising isn't going to be too extreme :rotfl:

Not going to the extreme! (Although I did consider a turbo! ) I learnt that with my focus!

Its the standard CD player, but its got no sub and the standard speakers! Considered getting Alpine media stereo, with bluetooth, ipod etc... But I think I will get it professionally done! Just to make sure its hooked up correctly! I had alpine and a sub in my last car, which sounded great! (I'm definitely one that is into my music!) I've always got my music on full blast!... My neighbours must LOVE me! :D

Not really heard much about the cat back... But the piggyback chips, seem to be a little "hit and miss", some think they're ok, others think they're a waste of money!

I had bluefin chip, induction kit etc etc... All sorts of mods in my focus, my insurance was a NIGHTMARE :firedevil: by the end of it! Was a good car though, and did turn some heads! (Especially the police, who ALWAYS took a step back when they realised a girl was driving!)... (PS. I was never done for anything! I just happened to be driving home from work at 5am on New Years day or something equivalent!)

Going to try and keep engine mods to a minimum with this car.
