I was driving on the motorway doing 70mph when the yellow engine light flashed on.
Then I felt the power go from my car and the speed dropped, even if I had my pedal pushed to the floor it was struggling to go over 50mph.
When I was appraching a slow down at lights or a queue it felt like it was going to stall.
I managed to make it home and when I parked up the rev counter was moving up and down even though it was in neutral.
I tried it the next day and the Catalytic Converter error message came up on my dash and I am still experiencing the same problems.
It had 65,000 on the clock.
On advise please? Big repair job? Expensive?

Re: Engine Light On, Power Down, Catalytic Converter Message
Sounds as if the fault has caused it to go into limp home mode. Probably a coil pack fault. Expensive guess if it is not that though.
I guess it is not overdue for a service. Oil and filters all ok.
Maybe a diagnostic test would help.
