Peugeot RCZ

Post by Thar »

There was a car show in town today, no 206cc's sadly but Peugeot had some new cars on show. I had a look at the RCZ...very nice! Only one problem, not convertible! The saleman came over and I had a chat with him and mentioned that I liked the look of the RCZ but I had a 206cc and preferred convertibles. He said he had seen a concept photo of an RCZ convertible and there was a possibility that they may be produced in the future as there was plenty of room in the boot to store the roof...better start saving up!

Don't let the roof put you off :)

Since November 2001 until last week, apart from a gap between November 2004 and March 2005 I had a 206CC, 350Z Roadster and 308CC.

Had an RCZ since last Tuesday and a hard top is no disaster.

An RCZ convertible eh? I like the resr sculpting behind the seats, wonder what its roof would look like though...

I read an article a while back mentioning that there were rumours of TWO convertibles in the upcoming 208 range - a CC of course, but also a softtop roadster. Strange move by Peugeot, and so I wouldn't put it past them to give the RCZ a cloth roof...

The problem with an RCZ convertible is you would lose the most distinguishing feature of the coupe car which is the arches.

You would also lose the back seats as well which like the 206CC etc.. are better than nothing.

If it got the cloth roof, I'm not sure it would look that good.

I had the Nissan 350Z roadster for 5 years after the 206CC. I preferred the look of the coupe by far against the roadster, but with roof down, the roadster was far better by miles.

Here was the 350Z.....

Haha Derek you read my mind! I was thinking of asking if posting pics of your new aquisition would be possible here :P

But it's absolutely stunning, and I love that interior! There's a white RCZ at uni (registered 00.RCZ haha), it has a spoiler but I like the colour of yours much more. Also, those wheels are really cool! What size are they?

White RCZ's are nice but don't think I would have one after the white 308CC - a right pain to keep clean.

Wheels are 19" Solstice alloys, wheels just seem to be getting bigger on cars these days.

All RCZ's have the spolier, I'll post a pic or two tomorrow if I get time as I only took them today. The spoiler can be raised manually but pops up automatically to stage 1 at around 56mph and stage 2 at around 95mph - still to test stage 2
