Hi
I have a 206cc 52 reg Automatic
For about a year now i have had the hissing noise coming from the passenger side when i take my foot off the brake - i have had no trouble stopping at all just the noise .
In Nov last year i took my car to my local garage to have it serviced and mentioned it to the mechanic who had a look and said it was the hydraulic cylinder or something letting out air he said it was not dangerous but when it goes it will be exspensive . Now it has started a high pitched squeak as well so am now worried it is coming to the end .
I have looked on here and it looks like it is called the servo....
Can my brakes fail ?
How much am i looking at to get it fixed ?
Should i go to my regular garage or go to peugeot ?
Any information would be great

Re: Brakes hissing !
If the servo fails the amount of force you will need to exert on the brake pedal will increase greatly and your brakes will become less effective - dangerous.
Personally I'd go to my local Peugeot indy, they know what they are doing but don't charge main dealer prices.
Don't know how much it will cost - ask your garage for a quote. Let us know how you get on.
