Help with Roof needed PLEASE!!

Post by hollypinder »

Hi.
I bought a 206cc a few days ago.
When i bought it everything was fine, roof worked as normal etc.
However the following day when i was drivng it with the roof down and i hit a bump in the road, the loud beeping started.
We trie everything and it wouldnt work, i couldnt get the roof to go back up or windows to even work.
I phoned a local peugeot garage who were useless and said they couldnt look at it or help till next week.
I asked how to manually get the roof up but they said it was a 2 man job and needed an engineer to help. - Stupid idiots. They said i would have to leave the roof down till next week when they could look at it.
So my partner managed to manually get the roof up after ages trying to figure it out.
Anyhow once we got it up, the roof worked perfectly again going up and down without a problem then today i drove it with the roof down and hit a little bump in the road and hay-ho it starts again. Beeping driving me crazy.
Once again we got the roof up manually and it works fine again but now i am too worried to open the roof when driving along as if i hit a bump it will start again.
I check the liner thing hadnt popped out in the boot etc but its not that.

Does anyone know what the problem is. My partner is very good at fixing cars and can do most things but as i have never had a 206cc before this roof is a whole new game.

I obviously want to be able to drive it with the roof down without a problem but too worried to at the moment as if im without my partner i wouldnt even be able to get the roof up again.

Has anyone else had this problem and know what it could be.
Also does anyone know how much peugeot will probably charge to sort it out?

Any help would be much appreciated as i love my new car but im considering getting rid of it as this is a right pain.

Thanks

Could be a few things but I'd check the boot latch bolts for tightness first, see
http://www.peugeot206cc.co.uk/viewtopic ... p&start=15

if the boot latch is OK then maybe a cable needs adjusting for tightness, see
http://www.peugeot206cc.co.uk/viewtopic ... roof+cable

and check the white loops, see
http://www.peugeot206cc.co.uk/viewtopic ... +down+beep
