Help Roof problem am gutted

Post by kirstie »

I have had my car for 3 years. My roof as all ways worked I have had the odd time when it as stopped half way for a second then beeps to tell me to finish operation.
I went to take my roof down a couple of saturdays ago it went half way then made a noise that I have never heard and wouldnt let me finish taking it down but I could take it back up so thats what I did closed and locked in place and tryed again the same thing happened. I read the post for roof problems on here and saw that I might need fluid so that I checked and was low, so I then send my car into a garage to have the fluid filled they go to test the roof and it does the same goes half way( back to wear it should start to go down) and makes the loud noise.
They have rang my mother cos I was at work and said that they have put it on machine it came up switcher fault and when they have gone threw the switches quite nicely my car is f****d cos they is lots that need to be replaced which is gonna take alot of time and alot of money- will know more when I speak to the garage in the morning.
A different garage a few months ago when repairing my fan wiring managed to blow my engine ecu, I never checked the roof worked cos of the weather and took it that nothing would be wrong with the roof. Could they have caused all this damage?
I just dont think this is right about all the switches surely if it was switchers then the roof wouldnt work at all it does all the beeps it should but then crash's half way and makes this noise I didnt think switches would make it do this noise?
Any advice more than welcome I have already had to pay a bomb to be told my baby is shit, dont want to pay out I dont know how much till tomorrow to do switches if it isnt them that need doing?
Thank you

My fan wires at front of car was corroded, and quite nicely that bloke doing car didnt pay attention where each wire went and put them back in a little box in wrong order which sent my car daft, dash stopped working, then they sorted that for it to work but only to say stop, then if showed over heating but car wasnt machine kept on saying replace this that and another everytime it was replaced it came up faulty so they worked out that they had blow the ecu thats why it was giving all the wierd readings took them three month to sort my car and get it back to me. Am just thinking could they have blow the roof ecu aswell and thats why its saying loads of switches, didnt think loads would go all at once for no reason, just scared of paying for all switches and roof still not working.
Have you any idea why the roof would make a loud grating and stop half way and dont know who else to describe the noise

If it was me I'd only take a 206cc to a Peugeot specialist that deals with that model. Independent non-specialist garages are less likely to have the specialist knowledge to be able to put things right.

Yup my thoughts on the roof ecu
I'd defiantly do what grandadmonkey says
Someone that deals with them day in day out will have alot more knowledge
