Roof no opening, please help!!

Post by tazd »

I have made sure the parcel shelf is in place, ignition on, open the two roof catches, wait for the "bing" noise, press the button to open roof, all windows go down, can then hear the boot lid trying to open, but will not open. Almost like its struggling to open.

Any ideas??

Thank you :love-thx:

Have you tried it with the engine running? Places less strain on the battery.

Also I know that uses it's own hydraulic fluid
You could check it's full ( shouldn't really need topping up, just a thought )

I took it that tazd had tried with the engine running as per the ignition on comment...could be wrong.

Worth checking the hydraulic fluid but I wonder if trying to lower the roof manually first may help if part of the roof has siezed up somehow.

I found this post earlier, sounds like it could be similar to your problem viewtopic.php?p=99315#p99315

Here's a link to a video of the manual procedure if you want to try that.

i have manually opened the roof but now i cannot get the catches on each bootlid hinge to lock, every time i go to close the bootlid at the front hinge side, the catches unlock.
Does the removable parcel shelf need to be pulled out in order for the catches to lock?
Do i need to have the engine running?
What is the white pull cord for?

Please help

From the Owners Manual http://www.peugeot206cc.co.uk/downloads/handbook.pdf page 116 "Pull the cord to fold down the detachable parcel shelf"

You shouldn't need the engine to be running.

I've locked the other thread to keep all replies here...hope that's OK.

really appreciate u putting the owners manual up, i do have a copy of this, but am still having problems. When pulling the cord, it feels very stiff, like it will snap if i pull any harder? Is the cord related to the problem with the catches not locking? This seems to be the only problem i have. Thanks again

I have never had to perform the emergency procedure...touch wood...so unfortunately I can't advise you further. Hopefully someone who has...head up guys...may be able to help.
