Engine cut out when stuck in traffic on M25, Engine also mak

Post by kirsty*** »

I bought a peugeot 206cc 51plate 2.0litre 55,000 miles on the clock, 1 week ago and on the day i purchased it the car was fine no problems what so ever. But then as soon as I got car petrol from Tesco the problems started.

First Day: The car cut out in the morning when the engine was turnt on and the engine light came on, i took it to my friends garage and NO faults could be found, i then drove to the shell petrol station and the engine light came off!

Second day: The car shaked violently when engine started up in the morning, so i revevd the engine to prevent it from cutting out. It done this all day every time i started the engine up. Shaking extremly violently for 3minutes.

Third day: Friend check the sparks/coil/battery/air filter and cant find any problems (He works at a garage) He drives it to the shop and its fine.

Fourth day: Driving the car at 30mph and the engine light started flashing on and hasnt come off since.

I have now deciede not to drive the car as its too dangerous, and im soo upset that someone has sold me a dodgy car.
Please im desperate for help, has anyone had similar problems or know any solutions as I cant take this anymore.
Thanks for reading my post.

I have a friend that can change anything on an engine, if we can find a solution that would be great or we may put a new engine in the car.
I dont want to sell a dodgy car on as its NOT SAFE so would be grateful for anyones help.

Have you put any other petrol in it
As sometimes you can get bad batches from supermarkets

i filled half a tank up with tesco petrol when i bought it. And then i read somewhere about the petrol, so i went to shell garage and filled the remaining tank up with shell petrol and added redex in.
I havent ran out of petrol yet, but will wait for it to run out completely and fill up at a shell or esso garage.
But shorly this wouldnt make my engine turn off when idleing at a set of traffic lights. Or shake violently in the morning?

Im sooo stressed with this car, its put me off peugeuts all together thanks for replying

I won't use supermarket fuel in my cars. Stick to decent fuel.
