Newbie here with some questions

Post by tinkerbellglitter »

Hello,

I have a 2001 peugeot 206 SE 2lts in Aegean Blue.

Question 1 - MPG Display

My car only shows the time, date, and temperature. Why does it not show the mpg etc like other cc's? is it the year of the car or because I dont have the factory fitted stereo? itn the settings it is currently showing radio:OUT and a three letter word might be CPM:OUT what does this mean?

Question 2 - Rear Indicators

My rear passenger side indicator has gone and I would really like to change it myself, have had a look but cant see how to do it. Advice would be much appreciated

Question 3 - weird nob

In my centre console behind my hand break there is a little holder (for the people in the rear) on this holder is a little nob that you can turn left and right, anyone have any idea what this is?

Question 4 - stereo stalk controls

I have a kenwood stereo fitted in my car. I would like to use the stalk controls to control it. will this actually work? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... K:MEWAX:IT and will it show the radio station on the time and temperature display?

Sorry about all the questions, I am trying to get my 206 cc in a perfect state. Yesterday I took it to a car electrics place as i could not find a car radio lead to plug in the back of my stereo, the man there told me £35 per hour and he would have to take glove box out to find it. so could take hoim 2 hours. I ended up doing it myself, i just removed the plastics around the stereo and controls and dug around and eventually found it.I now have a radio in my car after a year! He also quoted me £95 to remove the gay neons that someone previously put under my car (sorry if anyone here likes neons) there was an on off button on the dash and a remote control and loads of wiring under the bonnet. I did that myself too, took me an hour, so yesterday i saved £165 which isnt bad for a girl :)

Anyway. Look forward to your help

Welcome.

Q1 Adjust what appears on your screen by pressing the end of your right hand column stalk. Refer to your owners manual.

Q2 I assume you mean you want to change the bulb. Under the nuts (from inside the boot) that secure the lamp assembly. Once undone withdraw the lamp assembly out from the car backwards. Disconnect the electrical connector to allow it to come right out. Disassemble just enough to remove the blown bulb and replace it with a new one.

Reassembly is the reverse of dis-assembly and make sure you get the rubber foam sealing pad correctly in place, otherwise you'll get water in your boot next time it rains.

Q3 Weird knob? Isn't that the one for adjusting your door mirrors? Again, refer to your owners manual.

Thanks for the reply,

The stalks dont work, thats why im getting that cable.

The weird nob is not the wing mirror controls, its further back than that. its in the little storage bit behind the hand break for the people in the back seats. It might be something someone put in themselves and i have no manual, the one i cant find one for the 2001 se version.

Hi tinkerbellglitter and welcome to the forum!

Here's a link to the manual on-line http://www.peugeot206cc.co.uk/downloads/handbook.pdf It may not tell you what the mystery knob is but it may help you with any other problems.

I will take a photo in the morning. One of my mates boyfriends has just sorted out the indicator for me which is ideal :) I have ordered the cable to make my steering stalk work so will update whether that works or not.

I have also just found out that my car has had loads of work done on it, I dont know much about cars but apparently its got coil over suspension and some uprated suspension in the back, also a really good air filter. Ive had the car for nearly a year and sort of fell out of love with it after it broke down 5 times in the same place. I was going to sell it, so i cleaned it all up and realised what a fantastic car it was and decided to spend some money on it getting it exactly how i want it. (keeping it standard as possible) but just making sure everythings in fantastic condition.

Roll on the summer :) :rotfl:

you wont have mpg display because youre car isnt multiplexed and uses a BSI and not a Com 2000. I have a 2001 SE also and it doesnt have mpg on the multifunction display. This is a feature on later models.

The radio info wont come on the MFD with an aftermarket stereo. The patch lead will only allow remote control of the volume and track select etc.
