winter, snow, ice, creaking roof

Post by minimoy »

Hey Guys, just wondering....
I left my car outside for the night ( it snowed and it was VERY cold) and in the morning when I sat in to warm it up there was ice on the inside of the windscreen, AND the roof had a horrid, HORRID creaking noise.... did anyone of you have the same prob, any tips or stuff?
Thanks

Does that as the condensation freezes
I put a cover over the screen as that helps a bit

That sounds so funny, like a confession "leaving the car outside overnight" ! - I know we love them like our children but they are made for the outside arent they? (Thats a giveaway that Ive never had a garage init?)

No offense, I know not everyone has garages(didn't mean to sound posh). It's just that I was worried that something was broken, cos this is our first winter together.. but then I'll buy a cover for her... :) thanks a lot for the help! Oh, one more question, didn't any of you guys notice that the engine takes a lot of time to warm up? and until it does, if you go over 2000rpm, it gives out a horrid, horrid sound. anyone?

HI minimoy, try using a pre-icer to help stop screen freezing in the first place, now the roof i have had three hard top convertibles and all have had the roof creaking in the extreme cold the rubber seals loose their spring should be okay when we thaw out

You could try using silicone grease on the seals, that might help. http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stor ... yId_165705 My baby's safely tucked up in my garage until this horrible weather has gone away
