For all CC's built from 2004 onwards, the cambelt, or timing belt (they're the same thing) no longer needs to be replaced at 80,000kms as stated in the handbook, but rather at 120,000kms.
I'm not sure about the belts on older cars, I just know about MY04's because that's what mine is. But if you know how to get in there, and your belt is quite broad, you won't have to change it at 80,000kms. It's the narrow ones that need changing then.
If your timing belt ever does break, DON'T be conned into having to buy an entirely new engine! All that will need replacing is the valves, because the engine has been designed that way.
Hope this saves some $$$ for some of you!

No worries Thar. Your 2003 model could be an MY02/2.5, MY03 or possibly even an MY04, but all auto MY04's are tiptronic.
When you het your timing belt replaced, you will most likely get one of the bigger belts anyway, some of the new belts on some cars have a 300,000km life!!!
