Power loss on my 206 cc

Post by magicexposed »

Hi ya Guys. I hear you guys are the best, so I have joined this 206 cc Owners group. I have my beloved peugeot 206. I love it, and just recently When I drive it for about 15minutes, I get the engine managment light come on, then it would start flashing and then I have a sudden loss of power. I would park up, then turn the engine off, then start it, and then the light would go off, and im ok for another hour or so.
Just yesterday, although the light is off, I still feel a huge loss of power. It must be electronic as oppose to like cylinder porblem or something, as when it runs, It runs perfect, but as soon as the light goes on, The car struggles big time.
Any help would be ever greatley appriciated. Thanks again.

Anyone any idea why the link to the Tech Bulletin in this thread doesn't work anymore and where i might find this Bulletin to wave at my dealer?

TIA

Is it an auto or manual? If it's an auto, it sounds like it may be putting itself in limp-home mode. This is when the gearbox puts itself into 3rd gear and stays there, meaning low power and restricted speed. It can do this for a number of reasons, normally electrical problems but maybe someone else here knows more about the limp-home mode function?
