Ticking noise when enginge turned off...

My 206cc "ticks" when the engine is turned off - sometimes just for seconds, at the moment I can hear it outside the window and its been 5 minutes. Sometimes the ticking slows down, sometimes it speeds up...

last time the AA met the car, they said it was the exhaust cooling - but I've only just popped to the corner shop!

Any ideas what it could be?

This is something that bothers me. Mine sounds like a cooling fan, so assume its the same. I had it also with my fiat punto, drive round the block and it would be cooling down, people would tell me its normal, but never seemed to happen driving other cars etc.

I left the roof off the other day and went out in the early evening to put it back up, turned on engine for the roof up operation and turned off, 5 mins later it was still cooling although I hadnt driven anywhere :rotfl:
Take it this is normal then.... :drunk:
