Quick things About the Roof & Maybe a Solve?

This topic was started due to (once again) my roof on the CC getting stuck half way up. Hmmm...

As i have seen in this forum this is a common CC problem and one of which is not going to be fixed free of charge by the centre of the problem PEUGEOT :rolleyes: unless under warranty (how convenient?) . Having watched a TopGear (BBC 2) car review on the Peugeot 307CC they were naming the problems with the 307's CC predecessor the 206CC, one of which was the (earlier models) roof getting stuck half way up.

Like many of the people in the forum we have put the roof down manually then have to turn up the radio to drown out the groan of beeping all too familier for owners who have this problem. After the first fix at a Peugeot dealer (they wont release the diognostics program to other garages for them to place into there laptops / stations to diagnose & fix the problem [Is this another money swindle?]), £70 later, the problem seemed to be fixed. How wrong was I?

So now there is a large amount of fear of putting the roof down now just in case it doesn't come back up and cost more money.

Although the garages after a few visits usually replace something or modify something it seems to me (i'm no mechanic) this is a computer problem which probably could be fixed by a driver (the one in the car's computer not me !) update.

Is it not possible that all the Peugeot 206CC owners who have had this problem to revoke and face Peugeot and if enough of a response was generated to have this problem sorted so we can all go around with the roof retracted, wind in our hair and enjoying the 206CC experience.

Also, instead of posting in many different topics could you post in here, this will make it easier to collate all the views and send to Peugeot if needed, i mean war

Had car for three years now from new, only time have had problem is when cleaning seals etc and turned off igniniton during roof folding operation, the roof fails to sense where it is and then has to be folded manually as per users instruction in car manaul. No hassle just some thing i will nt do again on purpose.

So for poll; put me down as NO PROBLEM

Car spends more time at peugeot garage for roof problems than at home!
They claim to fix it each time but i swear it gets worse!

Lets just say i still hear the beeping in my sleep!!

My warrenty is up this moneth so im thinking it would work out cheaper just to part ex my car for a newer one than pay for roof problems everytime it goes in lol

to be fair,i do see alot of cc where i work and very few of them have roof problems.
most of the time tis user error,(ie) blind not pulled in boot,trying to put roof down when driving,fluffy toys jamming the rear parcel shelf,catches not closed properly etc etc .
a very small majority have an actual fault,which is usally caused by user.
micro switchs used to be and issue when cars first came out,but have now been changed and modified

id have to say whats all the fuss about??
if there was a poll id have to say no more than any other faults.

never had a problem, did have a prob where the alarm would go off when the roof was down, but a quick pop to pug and a software upgrade and it was fixed

This problem is one that seems to be common on the '03 models of the CC and btw you shouldn't be able to put the roof down without the blind pulled out. And theres nothing blocking it.

i know ?? thats what i said???
roof wont go down unless blind pulled.dosent stop people moaning there roof dont work,and what a rubbish product peugeot is etc etc,then to find its not a car failing tis a user lack of knowledge ,common sense.

id be interested to know of how many 03 plate cars have roof faults,as they are the same through out the range....so all ccs should have the same fault....in theory.

Oh yes, I too have problems on my '03' plate peugeot 206cc. The roof went into the boot and basicall died and the locking forks on the roof lid wouldnt lock. My father has now reset the hydraulics and the locking forks have gone in to place however the roof now wont go down manually... the pump is trying but nothing happens. I have also found an arm off a micro sensor floating round the back of my boot, does anyone has a list of where the microsensors are located!

Went to Peugeot and they want £851 to solve the problem... however they dont know what the problem is!

I have only had 1 problem with my roof.... the sensor is so small, sometimes the catch wouldn't fold down onto the sensor.
the local postman walked past and saw me struggling and offered to help. God konws what he did, but 2 mins later the metal catch fell off. The roof was stuck down for hours untill i came up with my master plan of celo-taping a pound coin onto the sensor. No more walking back and fourth to the boot to make sure it catches the sensor.

Hi can anyone help? I have an early 206cc - Sept 2001 from new. Have never had a roof prob until now, but had a 4 hr high speed drive with the roof down and may have shaken something loose.
Problem is, roof comes down OK - boot lid lifts, roof folds in, boot lid closes.
BUT when you put the roof back up - lid opens, roof comes up, lid starts to close -and STOPS.

Seems to me the car thinks the roof isn't down so stops the lid from closing. Where is the sensor/microswitch?
does anyone know where I can find a plan showing where everything is?
