hi, got a 206 quiksilver 1.6 hdi with 20k on, we have had it now for about a month and its been fantastic, last night i experienced what can only be described as intermittent power loss and surging, seems ok today but have been driving with a very light right foot, just wondered if anybody else has had anything like it, would it show on the faultcodes, i have booked it in to local peugeot dealer but i know thats going to be expensive

i think i may have found the answer to the missing and losing power, i was told by an independant peugeot specialist that the cover that goes on top of the engine, can trap the injector pulse wires and sometimes they short out causing misfire to whichever injector is shorted, so his advise was to throw the cover away as it does more harm than good

Perhaps you'll report back as to whether or not this improves matters. Good luck.

weve just gone to fully check my car and turns out one of the clamps connected to my battery is a bit battered and keeps coming loose! this explains total loss of power, stop signs flashing on and rev counter dropping and rising, could also explain the orange 'engine management' light staying on? funny how something as simple as a loose connection can cause such problems! We shall see once repair is done and car has been reset again!
