Hi guys,
The multi-function display in my 206 looks messed up. My mechanic said i need to replace it as it is damaged. However from what I have read online, replacing the bulbs could also solve the problem. Attached is a picture of the mfd.
Another problem i am facing is my signal lights don't seem to work if my headlights are not turned on. I have to switch on the headlights in order for the signal lights to work.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If the dark bit is only on one side (as it looks in the pic) u just need a new bulb. Push the surround towards the windscreen to remove it, and u can get to the bulbs behind the display. V easy to do. U only need to replace the mfd if it becomes fragmented (talking from personal experience here).
I hope that helps.

You just need to replace the bulbs that are affected.
With regards to the indicator problem have you checked the fuses ? If another fuse has blown it can affect other circuits on the 206 cc for some reason (It did on my car) as its all linked to the BSI/Com 2000. It might be a bad earth somewhere which means the indicator circuit might only complete when the lights are turned on. The indicators are earthed to the battery -ve.
Charlie,
I will try to dismantle the MFD this weekend. Are there any guides on how to replace the bulbs?
cheeke,
I tried asking around, and 1 mechanic said that its probably due to the indicator stalk (the stalk in my car has both the indicator lights and wiper combined) and another mechanic said its probably due to a burnt fuse. The problem is, he wants me to replace the entire fusebox! I don't know who to trust, both the fusebox and indicator stalk are not only expensive, its also difficult to find. I am really hopeless when it comes to electronics and the mechanics in my area are no better, they are too lazy to troubleshot problems and 99% of the time their only solution is to replace the effected part.
hi guys,
One of the bulbs was not functioning. I manage to changed it myself. However the display still doesn't look too good. If you notice in the picture I posted, there is a circle which looks brighter embedded into the display unit (sorry but i am not sure how to explain). Its still there when the car is turned off. I suspect that it could be embedded into the LCD screen. Is it possible to just replace the LCD screen or better repair it?
At least yours roughly does what its sposed to. Mine still has no radio or computer info
I shall try another post...
Good luck and enjoy driving topless:lol2:
