Any good ideas out there-I can't open the boot on my wifes 2002 206 cc!
It should be easy, just unlock the car, put the key in the boot lock and turn to the left-but it doesn't work!!!!!
The problem is the key will turn to the right but nothing happens, when I try to turn the key to the left it just will not turn & if I turn the key any harder I will break the key off!
& yes the cover in the boot is rolled up so the roof will not open, I also can't open the boot to pull the cover over because the boot is locked!

Please can anybody help us !!!!!!? :(

1. Remove rear seats buy undoing the 4 10mm nuts holding them. It helps to have a size 10 socket but an open ended spanner (size 10) will do.

2. There is a 4" square access panel behind each seat. Inside the car and facing the rear (very cramped!) the RIGHT hand one is covered only by some boot lining which can be pushed out of the way. you only need to go into the boot from this one

3. With the help of a good torch the micro switch for the roof boot blind is visible on the far side about one foot up from the floor of the boot out of reach even if you have a long arm! The micro switch for the roof needs to be pushed down to open the roof so you need to make up a 'special tool'. This consisted of 36" length of 1/2" square wood with a nail in the end stick'n out at a right angle by about 1/2". The nail needs to be 1/4" diameter, so you may need to wrap it with tap to get the right size. you then poked the rod through the access hole and hooked it into the boot blind catch to operate the microswitch.

4. Ignition on and the roof then was able to fold back. When the boot had hinged back I stopped the operation and removed the boot trim. The boot lock can then be opened by hand from the inside.

5. The roof can then be closed again and the boot opened with the key as normal.

Hi all,

I found this post after searching as I have a similar problem with my girlfriend's 206 cc (51 plate).

I just wanted to clarify a few points that aren't quite clear in the instructions above - firstly, the "microswitch" is the catch that the blind is hooked onto - so insert the "special tool" through the passenger side access hole - push it straight in front and use the nail that is at 90 degrees to push the catch - then as stated before, turn the ignition and it should work.

I am aware that it may look as though I have just restated the above, however, after following the instructions I just thought I'd clarify a few points!

Hope that helps!

Mark

Yes, that microswitch needs to be held in for the roof to operate. So if the blind isn't pulled over then the microswitch needs to be held in contact manually throughout the time that the roof switch is being operated.
Don't switch off the ignition again unless the roof sequence is finished completely in the right up, or right down position.
I've never done it myself but I understand that the roof will lose its memory of where it is if the ignition is switched off part way through any of its sequence.
Good luck Mark & welcome to the forum.

I had the same problem the lock won't turn to the left... so used this method except I used a 3ft piece of cable fp200, its like pyro the copper cable used for fire alarms etc. just more flexible and can be bent to any shape whilst retaining its rigidity, good torch is required too.
Just the lock to sort out now, many thanks.

Ours is a bit different .. it will open, but won't lock!

Any ideas? I can't hear anything operating when the central locking is set (I'm assuming it should click or something to lock the boot)

Any ideas?

-4 here so a bit too :cold: to be poking around ...

Firstly, use a meter or test light to check there is power getting to the lock servo when central locking is operated. If yes, lock is faulty. If no, check the wiring through.
Cheers Col.

got the roof down and had to manually turn the lock. now unfortunately the boot is always unlocked. diconnected the electrics so the alarm wont go off. it was really good to get these tips from other owners.also put some blue tack on the roof seal at drivers window to stop the drips when i,m going round corners.still a leaky roof is something you have to live with when you have and older sportscar .

OK, traced the problem on mine to the solenoid/actuator. The end of the plastic actuator arm has been bent and isn't pushing properly now. In fact if you operate it the bent wire that connects to the lock pushes through and gets stuck .. which is why it won't lock again.

Taken the actuating bar off for now so it locks/unlocks with a key and will trace a source a good solenoid unit ...
