 I had the hydraulic system replaced about 16 months ago on my roof as it was identified as a problem when I had issues with the electric windows.

About 8 months after this, the roof stopped working. I will try and explain what happens (or more importantly want doesn't!)

Windows open and close fine when pressing window switch

When roof clamps are on and shelf in the boot not in place - I get the bleep sound when you try to open the roof (all correct so far), then when you put the shelf in place, when you press the switch to descend the roof (even though the clamps are still on), I get nothing, tried it with both clamps on and off, but still nothing happens. Windows do not open and there is no audioable bleeping noise either.

I have played with the white clips in the boot to change from manual to electric roof opening but this does not help either.

I keep reading about microsensors but would not know what I am looking for? - Before I end up with another large bill to sort this problem out, I would really appreciate some advise from others as to what it could be?

I wonder whether it was something to do what the manual operation, and tried the allen key thing last night, but could not even move it?

Please, please help - missed last summer with roof problems and have now found this great site and hope you can offer some assistance

Oh I am such a idiot - it's only taken me nearly two years to get this sorted out.

I printed off the lovely diagram pages on Wednesday in a last desparate hope in trying to get this problem resolved. So, I fiddled a bit and made sure all the wires and things were in the right place on Wednesday night, then decided I would go indoors and read a bit more, in case it was a switch problem, and left it at that.

Then last night, decided I would just try and see whether the problem still existed, I put the key into the ignition, and turned it to the appropriate setting, so far so good, then oh joy, (no really) when I removed the roof clamps, I got that bleeping sound, the one I had not heard for so long, it was just music to my ears. So holding my breath, I pressed on the roof release button and then it all started - OH YES, windows went down, boot went up and after a slight delay, the roof opened, it was a bit stiff at first and did sort of stool half way on the first attempt, you have to remember it's not been opened for about two years, but the second attempt went like clockwork.

All I can say, is a big THANK YOU to this site. :love-thx: I just wished I tried this when I first found the problem.

NOW BRING ON THE SUN....

Hi

I bought a 206 cc 52 it had a little damage to passenger side had that sorted. Now when it came to the roof it will not go down it makes beeping noises but just does not move at all windows don't go down with roof switch but do go down on window switches, came on internet to look up spent hours looking at websites including ths one, found vid of manual up/down roof tried that still not working peugeot quoted a silly amount.

I don't want to go and spent money on micro switched unless anyone really thinks it could be this.....now the white clips on the mechanism only clip into place when boot lent back (don't if that means anything) and the pull cord is not there!!!!!

I am getting really p'd off so anyone please help......getting to a point that I wished I had not bought it.....
