Hi

I recently purchased a second hand, 4 year old 2.0 Allure 206cc from a dealership with warranty ( and purchased extended warranty)

I only drive the car at weekends and have only done 300 miles since I bought the car in December (25000 on the clock). Car was going great, until, a small puddle of oil was found under the car on the right hand side of the engine. Then the same day came up with the anti pollution warning which has been the subject of the forum on so many occasions.

Took the car into the dealership where I purchased it, they said that they had checked out the diagnostics warning and it was all OK, they changed the oil sensor, which they stated that cured the engine problems. I then mentioned again the fact that there was an oil leak with the car on right hand side of the engine. They then checked it again and stated that the oil sump had a hairline crack and had been caused by an impact (alledged scratch under the car!!!!) and that was what was leaking- due to the fact that I am extremely careful with the car and have not mounted curbs, gone down deap potholes and frankly hardly even drove it - was slightly miffed that they said the car was not like that when they sold it, as it had been thoroughly checked and it would cost £400 to repair and would not be covered by the warranty.

Firstly slightly miffed as the warranty is for peace of mind and if they merely say that it was not like that when the sold it then surely nothing would be covered by the warranty. Secondly the engine is still leaking so not even sure that it was the actual sump that was leaking in the first place!!! Any ideas !!!

Thirdly petrol tank had enough fuel in for 165 miles when I picked it up it only had fuel for 66 miles - not sure where they tested the car monaco probably!!!

Any advice would be welcome, as I feel that I am being robbed and this is going to be an expensive problem to get to the bottom of!!!

I'm quite new to this site myself but your situation seems really unfair. I only purchased my 206cc two weeks ago but I've been told time and time again since buying it that if something goes wrong which isn't covered by warranty not to take it to a Peugeot garage as they charge way too much - So I really suggest that you phone round a few mechanics in your area as they will probably mend it for half the price than what you've been quoted by Peugeot. Hope you get it sorted and all goes well for you :)
