What type of engine oil should i buy?

Now i know this sounds daft! but my wife picked me up some Castrol GTX 10W-40 A3/B3
I have i.6 206cc allure can i put this in my car?
Hope someone can help?
Checked my engine oil and it was empty yet no warning light came on? strange

I wouldn't. Should use 5w-40 Fully Synthetic really. Total Quartz 9000 is recommended. Check your manual.

If it's the Castrol Magnatec 10/40 then it's more than fine and one of the recommended oils for the CC. I used it for 3 years in a 206CC and also in my 350Z.

Castrol GTX 10W-40 is a mineral engine oil and this viscosity is widely recommended for a variety of engines manufactured since 1990. The reason I wouldn't use it is because I've only used fully synthetic in my car since it was new and I wouldn't want to mix mineral oil with it.
Double the frequency of oil and filter changes if you do switch to mineral oil.
