Tappet change info

Hi all, just brought a 206cc 2.0 on a 52plate and it seems i have the tappet fault!! question is do i need any special tools to do this job, i was an experienced mechanic 8 years ago but now out of date so could do with some pointers. Many thanks Dean

is it actually the tappets or the exhaust manifold? im just asking because it seems alot of people mistake the exhaust manifold noise for a tappet noise x
