Newbie with roof dilemma!

Hi All,
Just registered and I have got to say what a fantastic site for help, hints and tips its amazing! Unfortunatly my first post is tinged with sadness and frustration.

I have been the proud owner of a 2.0 SE CC for just over a week and upon showing my family and friends the wonders of my convertible roof it decided to embarrass me and fail to complete lol.
If anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated, the sequence goes as follows..

I Unclip the roof both sides and it beeps, i press the button which lowers all the windows and then opens the boot an then folds the roof down into it.. that is where it gets stuck, it continues making the loud buzzing sound for a while but then just beeps at me with the boot lid sticking up in the air.

Reading on here I can only think it may be a microswitch as every other time the boot lid opens and closes fine.

Could someone please help me as to where i should start looking or what microswitches could be at fault?.

Any information would be greatly appreciated.

If you've only had it a week I'd take it back.

If you're determined to have a go yourself (scary!!) then I'd search every thread under roof problems to gather information.

Hi Thanks.
Need to have a go myself as I brought the car privately (stupidly!). are the microswicthes cheap to purchase and replace yourself?, are they available from the main dealer only?
