Speedo / Temperature Gauge Malfunction

Hi, the speedo and temp gauge on my 206 cc appear to have malfunctioned. At present the speedo stops when it hits 40mph and starts 'twitching' and will not go any further, the temp gauge itself is not moving at all. Any ideas / comments much appreciated, Thanks

hey perhaps theres a problem with the dials themselves it seems strange that it works a little if it was the speedo broken it wouldnt work at all, as for the temp gauge, is it the water or oil? either way it could possibally be the sensor,

could it be anything to do with the electrics as my mot is up end of feb thats if i still have a licence due to speedo not working.my stereo only seems to work when i put it in first gear.Don t ask stressing me out .
please can anyone help
