Hi all...I appear to have this deep droneing sound when slowing down on my Y reg 206cc, it happens if im in gear, in neutral, turning left and right, braking and not braking...The sound goes higher pitched as you increas speed. At around 50-60 mph you wouldnt notice the sound unless you are listening for it....

any advice would be very gratefull:)

I had a car which had a very noisy differential (not a 206) which I put up with for years. I changed the oil in it, which never made any difference, and it never let me down in the years that I owned it. I put it down to misalignment of the gears within the diff. Ran it for 3 years and 30,000 miles like it. Sold it at 104,000 miles and the buyer got me to knock £20 off because the differential was noisy!

Good luck with yours, let us know how you get on.
