Hi

I`ve got a 1.6 s 52 plate done about 80k, not had any major problems until yesterday.....the car wont start, it makes a noise but wont turn over...lights...windows everything else works except for the actual moving bit.... i`ve had the timing belt changed around a month ago and its done less than a thousand miles since being changed...could that be the problem...please help pretty much lost without my baby :(
i`ve tried jump starting it but didnt work either...I get a sort of whirring noise when the key is turned.

Hi, sorry to hear you're still having issues with your car. What happened with your clutch? Did you have it replaced? Or have you got used to the high biting point. And what about the sort of grinding underneath that only really happened when you were going up a slope, (like a vibrating noise or a rattling), exhaust maybe? Did that get sorted?
If you've had the clutch replaced, and the timing belt too then the electrical connections to the battery will have been disturbed and may be slightly loose. My son had a clutch changed on a 306, drove it out of the garage, turned it off and it wouldn't start again. The connections to the battery hadn't been done up tight enough. No need to overdo it but they do need to be tight. So I'd start by checking electrical connections at the battery and starter motor first off.

Good luck,
Ron
