We've an 05 1.6 Allure and it's great.
Nothing has gone wrong with it.
Make sure you read the owners manual and follow the operating instructions precisely - particularly for the roof operation.
Oh! - and welcome to the forum Natalie.

We decided to go for the 1.6. Cheaper insurance, better fuel economy - we average 37mpg - and fewer problems. Quick enough for us but won't outdrag hot hatches - we use our 2.8 litre Merc for that! It should top 120 mph (but we've never tried that).
Convertible coupes with folding roofs tend to be quite heavy compared with a hatchback which blunts the acceleration. Having said that it cruises easily at the legal limit with plenty in reserve.
Get the longest test drive you can and check all of the operations of the car - especially the roof. As reap said, look for full service history. Ask why the present owner is selling it and what problems they've had.
Good luck.
