Pull Cord snapped - does this cause roof not to work

Hi, I wonder if anyone can help. My pull cord has snapped, and my roof has not worked since, is this connected or just a coincidence?

Hi ya, i have an old 2001 model, the pull cord broke about 7 months after purchasing the vehicle and this has never caused a problem for me.

I think it must be a co-incidence. I've had to replace the pull cord on ours and it should have nothing to do with the normal roof operation.
