Hi guys hope someone can answer this question, the battery on the car was completely flat and I bought a replacement as the old one wouldnt hold any charge. the only problem is the new one doesnt seem to fit, its not tall enough or wide enough. took the car to the motor factors that I had the battery from and was told that it is the correct battery for the car, he snapped a piece of plastic off so the connections would reach better, and put some metal washers in between the battery and metal plate that holds it in place, I had also put cardboard under the batter to make it higher. the battery still rattles around in the battery holder and I have to reconnect it everytime I stop as the car will not start. Is there a special battery for the 206cc that the motor factors dont know about? or do I have to make adjustments to where the battery sits? Which I have never had to do before on any other car I have had.

ive had this with a factor battery, sits to low in the battery box and keps popping the positive terminal off ;(
customer wanted it ,so cut a piece of wood to size to act as a spacer under the battery.
o.e batterys are the best fit.seem to be taller, have you got a vby1 type battery? :)

Yeah your right took it to the garage in the end and they had to put wood under it to prop it up and it now fits like a glove.

Thanks

I fitted an aftermarket battery a while back (about 6 weeks), I opted for a slightly bigger size seeing as I have an amp and so on. The battery fits perfectly havent had any terminals pop off.
The jacket that came with the OEM one doesnt fit though but its not as cold in south africa and apparantly they shorten your battery life in a country with intense heat, thats what the guy at the battery centre told me.
Anyways since the battery has been fitted some other problems have sorted themselves like the 'anti pollution warning' suppose the spark was to weak to burn the feul properly.
