Hi All

I am in Ireland and am interested in buying a 206CC in the uk, maybe also looking for a boot rack.
I am wiling to pay up to £10,000 for a 03-05 year, must have nice milage.
I like the Dark Blue, Moonstone or Silver best
Not sure what the different models mean (Alure, SE etc) maybe someone can explain.

I am not in a rush for the car, but would like to have it by end of March

Thanks
Garry

I had an allure, basically meant it came with all the extras I think.

As I've said earlier we may be changing our 05 1.6 Allure in Moonstone this spring. Done about 13,000 miles that's all. Full Peugeot service history. We've had no problems with it, just that it'll be 3 years old and fancy a change. If we do sell, it will be with a full MOT as the first one falls due in a month or so.

Hi Ron

Was kidding about the Black
I sent you a mail, just looking for the pics.
Even though i live in Ireland, I have a lot of trips to
Birmingham to our office. If i am correct, you
are about 1hr to the east of Birmingham?

No mail received from you.
You're right, we're in Kibworth, 1 hour from Birmingham and 10 minutes south of Leicester.
If you let me know when you're next over you can see the car if you like. No obligation whatsover.
I take it you got the photos ok?
Regards, Ron

BTW Garry, you asked about price.

£10,000.

Available anytime between now and whenever. We are in no rush to sell but we tend to not use it much in winter. We use it at least once a week to keep it in tip-top condition but choose dry days.

Regards, Ron

BTW, you asked about the allure spec:

MAIN FEATURES
Alloy wheels, Front fog lights, Air-conditioning, Radio cassette, Driver's seat height adjustment, Trip computer, Audio steering-wheel mounted controls, Power steering, Front electric windows, Rear electric windows, Outside temperature sensor, Remote central locking, Alarm, Driver's airbag, Passenger's airbag, Side airbags, ABS brakes, Immobiliser.

Our car also has a genuine Peugeot Windstop (Wind Deflector) which makes open-top motoring so much more comfortable. It also has a Space-Saver spare wheel for worry-free long distance motoring.

Regards,
Ron

Ron

Bad news, i just checked the Irish VRT (Vehicle Registration Tax) on your car and its around 4,500 euro just on the tax
Looks like if i do get a UK car, i will have to buy a 2001 or 2002 reg with low milage.
As the tax is based on the year of registration and not milage. I was in shock when i saw the bill as i thought that it would
be about 2,000 tax

Your 10,000 = 14,500 euro
Plus 25% of the irish value (25% of 20,000euro) = 5000
Thats 19,500 and i can get a brand new one for 25,000
Its a scandelous tax, because you pay VRT of 25% of the irish market value of the car (which already has the tax charged)

Best of luck
Garry

No probs Garry. And we complain about OUR car tax here!

I have to say that we were struggling to decide what to replace our 206cc with. Ideally we would have wanted a bit more room in the rear seats. The Megane cc seemed to fit the bill but although it does have a little more room it is hardly generous. As the 206cc has never ever gone wrong, and is still as good as new, we shall most probably keep it for at least another year.

All the best in your search for a suitable older car. I hope you find a good, reliable one that has been looked after.

As expected our 206cc 1.6 Allure sailed through its 1st MOT so I guess we'll be keeping it now. Can't see that we'd get anything better for the £10k we'd want for it.

Any luck with your search yet Grinderman? Let us know how you get on.

Ron,
Looking through threds to find how to fit rear lights...came across this randomly.
I see you are thinking about changing the 206cc.....I had a look at the VW Eos...very nice and you get a lot for your money, comes will full panoramic roof parking sensors as standard, there is a LOT of room in the back! Looking at about 18k brand new, but can get ones 6months old for less, might think about getting one once i graduate and can afford one! definately worth a look though, much nicer than any other large cc IMO anyway. My other half thought I was crazy liking it, as its so big and perhaps not for someone not so young as me (23). But I loved it and want one at some point!!
sorry for butting in, just thought tell you as you've been so helpfull!

Hi Nicole,
No problem about butting in. Nice of you to share your thoughts. My wife is dead keen on the Eos, but I've never been keen on VW products myself as I think they are overpriced. We've had a look at the Megane CC and Pat likes that so when we change it'll probably be a Renault. Can get an 07 plate for less than £11k and the 1.5 diesels are so economical at 55mpg.
