Hi All

I am new to this site, and a new owner of a 206cc, i boughtit last week and previosly had a normal 206 as i love these cars, but have been reading some of these posts and now i am a bit worried that everything is going to go wrong with it!

All the rejection posts, i didnt actually know there were that many problems with the car, is it all cars or certain ones?

Now im having second thoughts about buying it!

Also, i have go tthe allure model so comes with all chrome accessories/leather seats as standard, and apat from new lights i cant realli think of much i want to do to improve the car! Im not really into body kits so i dont want all that, i did originally want a dvd flip screen in my 206 for a stereo but now in the 206cc i dont realli see the point, as i wont have people in the back really, and i like the stereo its got already!

Has anyone else changed anything on their cc?

Had an 04 Allure for two years, great fun and never went wrong. I had quad headlights, rear lexus lights (don't get these they are old fashioned and chav) chrome hoops, and colour coded some parts.

As long as you don't alter it too much with regards to mechanical parts, electrics and don't play about with the roof it should run great.

Don't forget that nobody will come on here and start a thread saying "nothing's wrong with my car"

Enjoy the summer!

Just to back up Dans comments. I have owned my cc since June 2001 and would not have kept the car this long if it was problematic and I have px'ed some dogs in my time. Touch wood it has been a very reliable car. I have a black 2.0 SE with red-black leather. Soon after purchasing I had the suspension uprated and fitted G.T bumbers. At the time I felt the handling was a bit wobbly hence the suspension upgrade. I fitted the G.T bumpers to make the car look a bit different. A tad less feminine. When I ordered my car I had never seen a black CC. but within months it seemed every other car was a 206 CC and usually in black. Hence I added the G.T bumpers and some Lexus style lamps. Although, as per Dans comment, I have subsequently sprayed the Lexus lights red. I also upgraded the stereo and fitted subs etc, although my cc is bit old now I still can not find a car to replace it. I Recently purchased some leather trim and have been replacing some of the leather as a few bits were starting to look a bit tired. I could not source a new steering wheel and so re-upholstered this myself. My car is as good as new and I hope I can keep it that way.

The 206 cc has a lot to go wrong with it and so try and get the best cared for car that’s in your budget.

Well the one i got ihas everything i want realli, already has the chrome headrests and although it is an 05 reg it only had 5000 miles on it, and i couldnt see any scratchs or aqny scuffs ont he inside or out (neither could my dad and that means something!) so its perfect condition and i am hopeing to keep it that way.

On that note, can anyone recommend any specific car cleaning material for it? I no halfords do a chrome cleaner that is realli good so i shall probably get that for the chrome stuff!

I was thinking of replacing the stereo but i like the fact i got the side controls with it and the display works, plus it comes with jbl speakers so i cant realli complain!

I no what u mean about the lexus lights, but i dont realli like the standard lights? I like my car to be one colour really :) and as its silver i was thinking of getting some all chrome lights but i dont realli like any of them either!! Think i shall see the chrome angel eyes and then look around for back lights?

Hi Lil, welcome to the forum.
We have a 1.6 Allure and nothing has gone wrong with it. It's been brilliant. We like them as they are so we haven't modified it at all. We have bought a couple of practical extras: a wind deflector, which works very well indeed; and a space-saver spare wheel, because we didn't feel confident about undertaking long journeys with just a can of aerosol spray to protect against punctures and ensure that we got home OK.
Hopefully your car will be just as good. Read the owners manual thoroughly and operate everything as it should be used. A lot of the problems that people experience are, I'm convinced, self inflicted.
Enjoy your spring and summer in your new convertible.
regards,
Ron

Meguiars range are probably the best cleaning products to buy from Halfords if you don't want to get the really good stuff online. Meguiars Gold class shampoo will leave a nice shine (make sure you dry the car). Or go the whole hog and get Meguiars Gold class or NXT polishes and waxes. This stuff isn't cheap though.

Fair enough  The LED lights seem to be popular at the moment. I always loved afterburners but never had the balls to put them on.

The only thing that I changed was the brake discs and pads. The OEM brakes squeaked and drove me batty. I changed them all for grooved discs and greenstuff pads and haven't heard a squeak since. The braking is much better too and the dust is minimal.
