Does anyone have any problems wit1206cc Overheating when goi

Anyone have any problems with overheating only when going up hill? Just bought a 2002/3 1997cc 206cc & everytime we go up hill it overheats. Fine on the flat - goes great on the flat & runs cold. Soon as we level out the temperature goes back to normal again
We live in Tenerife so the whole of the island is hills up to Mount Teide in the middle
