Will a new pioneer head unit (model DEHP8400MP) fit onto my 206CC without any major problems?

Will someone please outline the minor problems i may face and how these can be solved.

Many thanks
Paul

hi paul,

the headunit fits straight in if you have already had a after market one fitted b4hand

if not it should still be pretty easy, it's mainly a ISO connecter and a couple of other wires although i did get mine fitted be a car hifi dealer coz i couldn't be a***d to do it myself, i thought that the filp down front would catch BUT it clears the dash by miles.

If you HAVEN'T bought the head unit yet then
take a look at http://www.cel-direct.co.uk they are doing it for £439 (i think), where as halfords are doing it for £599 but that does include fitting, if you can get to there shop and have a copy of max power magazine then they'll do it for £399 a whopping £200 saving

It does go very well with all the other chrome bits in the cabin.

Hope this helps

not sure if you need anything extra coz i got a car hifi shop to fit it.

nothing was shown on the dash with the
factory stereo so nothings changed.

not got multiplexing but i get a hifi shop to fit it saves time and cut fingers  should cost about £30.

will take some pictures soon.

didn't use the stalk for the factory fit one so didn't bother with the new one.

Hope this helps.

Is it blank on the dash display even with the factory radio? the car (the girlfriends)im driving at the moment new 206 lx displays the station name and the time and when the radio is off the date.is your dash display totally blank and the new radio/cd display is on the radio/cd display can u not have the radio playing and the day/date displayed on the dash display?

I think the dash display for the radio became effective on 2002 model vehicles.

you need a display adapter to get the thing to work, which for the 2002 model is not available (as far as I know-does anyone know for sure?) Anyway, the display which comes with the new stereo will show more information than anything the display on the car could show.
