Resurrecting this post as I appear to have the same problem.
I attempted to go in my boot this afternoon and found it incredibly heavy...I thought I was having a moment of weakness so I asked my other half to try and open it...same result.
After searching the forum I found this post and a "How to" in the excellent repair guide here -
http://www.peugeot206cc.co.uk/repair-20 ... cg1yf3.htm so I think I may just have a go at DIY.
Just need to order the parts now...any know of any decent part suppliers?

Re: My boot lid won't stay open
Bought a replacement boot strut from my local dealer for £23 inc VAT. which I didn't think was too bad. All the ones I had seen on-line were sold in pairs for around £50, but I only need the one.
Now where did I put that socket set?

I have always found my main dealer to be competitive for spares prices. Furthermore, the genuine spares usually fit perfectly.

Re: My boot lid won't stay open
I suspect this has happened before to the same strut. The strut that is still OK has the same numbering on it as the replacement I bought, the one that is faulty hasn't..cheap part?

Re: My boot lid won't stay open
Finally got around to doing this today. Pretty straightforward thanks to the instructions posted previously. I can't believe how easily the struts went back on...took seconds. After feeling the weight of the boot with one failed strut, it makes you appreciate what they do!

Re: My boot lid won't stay open
Just to add a little bit to the excellent 'how to', The seat base is clipped into the seat backs by thier hoop fixings . When you undo the base seat nuts lift the base from the front and then pull out. The revese to put back in.
I replaced both sides but only one had gone for it not to work correctly, a tip if you are on a budget. The one that will not compress is the good one.

Re: My boot lid won't stay open
Thanks for the advice on here. I managed to complete both in half an hour due to the tips here instead of scratching my head looking in the boot.
