That's why my car's got a chalky white coating then! I'll take the hose to it tomorrow then chamois it dry. I did think it shouldn't look like that but was a bit concerned about rinsing off the conserver when the instructions didn't specify it.

Hope you don't mind being my Diamond Brite expert! Thanks Robbie.

No probs. Can't take the credit tho because I was specifically told this by the man who did the original job.

Don't know how to tell you this Rachel so I'll just come out with it in one go

Yep, the chalky white coating's the excess wax-like preserver. You may well not get it off with just water from a hose now it's dried, and will most probably have to shampoo it again!! - (think that's what I ended up doing).

Never mind, steep learning curve and all that- it will be easy from now on.

Robbie.

Oh- and if you want to kill your grass I recommend throwing the excess bucket of shampoo or preserver onto it like I did

Oh well, the weather's supposed to be good tomorrow. Another day of washing the car!! I'm going to see my parents tomorrow, my dad's got a pressure washer so at least it'll be less effort than doing it by hand again.

Car looks very odd at the moment, very shiny from a distance but up close looks like its got dandruff

Yes thanks, all shiny again now. Shame about the water marks, lost my enthusiasm before I got the chamois out

Rachel/Robbie,
How are your feelings about DiamondBrite at this time ?. I'm asking because I'm looking to get my car done this weekend by one of their techs who is coming round my house ?. If you had the choice would you still go for it ?

Rgds

Yes I would, but obviously I can't compare it with other similar products as I've no experience of them. It keeps the paintwork clean and shiny in between washes. The only hassle is having to apply the conserver each time, like washing the car twice. I've got used to it though.

having had 3 cars Supaguarded and 2 Silversealed then its SILVERSEAL for me every time now.

Much better product, reacts better to polishing as well. Supaguard isnt as polish friendly.

Again, can't comment. Just wash it and chamois it, never use polish. Am I a lightweight?!
