If thats aimed at me then I can tell you that I DO have this bloomin problem too and I have tried everything upto the point of omitting the passenger seat airbag in the software and unplugging it and now I get no air bag fault nag screen after the initial check.
Since you found the break at the connector did you try resetting the original ecu?

Think that was aimed at me Slo. Glad you sorted it Jeff.
He was originally asking how to bodge it. I have managed to successfully "pontificate" a couple of airbag problems since. A Renault Clio with a faulty crash sensor, and an Audi A4 with a wiring fault in R/H front wing

Sorry if I was a bit short but when you have been chasing an intermittent fault for a year and an MOT is looming that will take your car off the road one gets a bit snappy.

The bl.... warning light came on again.Fortunately I remembered the cure from last time. There is a blue plug under the fuse box cover under the steering wheel. Two blue and two brown in,four yellows out.I opened and closed this a couple of times and the fault went.Next time it happens I will take the plug to bits and recrimp it.Also I might just wriggle it again, takes seconds to do,took months to find.
