It's not doing any harm? If it keeps people amused and isn't causing any malicious damage, leave it up to Lyndon to decide. Personally, I just ignore it cos it aint my thing but hey that's just me :)

or we could at least make this the muppet forum like the pgac instead of flaming forum as muppet is a more appropriate word.
I agree. It's certainly not a flaming forum as, from what I've heard, you're not actually allowed to flame anyone...

or maybe to keep in line with our beliefs call it the monkey forum :P

derek, as i don't read the muppet forum whats in it, is it similar to flaming forum ???

monkey forum sounds excellent :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D
don't read it myself so don't know whats in it but i think it's just a load of errr muppet posts as i once clicked on it and saw the topic headings but never read anything.

thought of monkey forum ages ago but never got round to mentioning it.

a good thing at pgac as well is that posts in the muppet forum don't get counted as a post so it doesn't inflate ur post total for posting rubbish.

Bloody hell, if it's really causing so much hassle then delete the damn thread!!

Certain people seem to have forgotten that this site is supposed to be light-hearted and fun and not full of insults & personal attacks. I started the thread because the forum was quiet and was hoping to stir some people into posting. There have been some funny comments in there and it has got people talking to each other.

If I've stepped out of line I'm sorry, it wasn't my intention to do so. But in my opinion the thread should stay, and it looks like the votes back that up as well.

However, the decision should lie with the moderators and ultimately the guy who pays the bills so we can all post pointless messages in here.

Defence rests ;)

Wrong. This is (currently) the "Flaming" forum. Flaming is ALL about insults & personal attacks...

Woohoo!

Any more insults and personal attacks can now be taken to PM, e-mail or your own chats.

Uh-oh...its reared its ugly head again has it?
About once every 3 or 4 months somebody comes on bleating about "crap being posted", "irrelevant topics" etc etc. And at the risk of repeating myself AGAIN...

It takes many different people to make up the world we live in.
Theres only so much you can say about a car.
There isn't even too much you can do with a CC...if we had some peoples way the top 3 most popular posts would be:

1: Where can i buy a cheap windstop?
2: Where can i get Lexus lights from?
3: What colour CC do you prefer...Black or Silver

Yawn!

I am one of (if not THE) biggest culprits for posting crap. hell, i don't even OWN a CC anymore! I know theres a few people out there who are on my wavelength, and as for the rest of you? I would really hate to think what kind of nerdy geeky things you're into...
So perhaps I might stop posting....leave you to your inane chats about the same things over and over and over again.

So come on! Vote me out! To be honest theres not a lot keeping me here but i'd miss quite a few of you, and you know who you are... ;)

The problem is not posting crap. That's what this forum's for.

The problem as far as I am concerned is that people's ratings are being artificially enhanced by posting crap. Whenever a newbie arrives, they tend to look at the ones with the high post counts and view them as the ones to listen to or approach for advice.

The danger is they approach people who know very little about the 206cc but a lot about posting crap. ;)

Unfortunately, there's no way to prevent the crap posts affecting stats in phpBB...

I am with CB on this one. I may not post a lot, but I like to keep up to date with the forum and read it on a daily basis. I would have to say that although I have gained lots of tips from the cc related posts, it is the light-hearted ones which keep me coming back.

Come on people - chill out

That's why I said "this site" not "this forum" ;)

Why does a flaming forum exist anyway? Doesn't it just encourage people to go off the handle for no reason?

PS I'm not trying to change the world, just curious ;)
