Derek, me gets the feeling that a lot of shops like WH Smiths are offloading excessive software game stock after Christmas at the cheaper prices.

not to start off a debate, but what's the point of buying an Xbox when you can play all its best games on PC and at a better resolution ? ok fair enough you need to have a PC "with balls" so to speak but really i don't see the point of an Xbox.
I personally wouldn't even entertain the idea of a dog ugly PC cluttering up my living room, in fact I wouldn't touch one with a $h!tty stick. I love my XBox though, Microsoft do occasionally come up with decent products. ;)
I can't say I agree entirely with your comments regarding the controller and FPSs. Play Splinter Cell or Halo for a few hours with an XBox controller and then see what you think; driving the Warthog in Halo takes a bit of getting used to though. :D

Couldn't agree more.

That's the attraction of a console to me, it does one thing and does it well (OK, three things if you include playing DVDs and CDs ;) ) you don't have to ar$e around with maintenance like you do with a PC. In my experience, the more PCI slots you fill, the more likely you are to run into trouble.

I program the bl00dy things all day so the last thing I want to do when I get home is play a game on one. Plus I can just switch the XBox off without waiting for Windows to tell me it's safe to do so (and yes, I know the XBox is running a Windows variant as its OS).

In my (insignificant) opinion console gaming is a different experience than PC gaming, not least because you're usually sitting on a comfy sofa while you're playing. :D

simply 2 different type of gameRs. Console gamers are just the lazy type that don't appreciate really games but want to play something in the spare time.
Pc gamers appreciate deeper games and more fulfilling experiences.
consoles= cheap thrills
pc games= rewarding and satysfing experience

oh and justin if you still have a grey box as a pc.. you are a bit out of date mate.
