My premium this year for my 2.0se was £850+ and that
was the cheapest!.

now would accept this was a fair and reasonable amount
if I was for example early twenties and have only a few
years no claims under my belt.

BUT - I've turned 30 this year, have been driving since 17
with insurance in my own name - no convictions and never
had an accident (touch wood!).

Think the arm gets stuck in a bit over here by the insurance
companies!!!

My 1.6 Allure with 5 years NC, 28 years old, central London with Peugeot cost me this year £940 with Ex £250. my existing insurance company wanted £1100.
I ran a search on the web and the lowest i could get was £720 for a renew, i will see what Peugeot comes back with when its time to renew.
Keeping a car in a garage does not make much of a difference when it comes to insurance nor does fitting a tracker.
New 53 Plate allure, Blue, one of the first in the UK.
Car has been rejected.
04 plate 1.6s same spec as the Allure.
