Never had a problem with them and man... it's like they're glued down the road. Never had a feeling they where underpowered also.
The previous Mondeo was indeed like a tractor so slow.
The current i don't know.

Why is that you say history has changed? Imo fords allways had a fairly good name with their fast models (think Cosworth)?

What's the other car(s?) you own now Rob? As you used to have multiple CC's. (couldn't you just kept one, just for old times sake?

Rob definitely had more problems than I've had with his, no bits have fallen off mine (yet!) I don't think even old time's sake would have convinced him to keep one of the CCs.

My car is finally fixed after the damage that nob in the Merc did. Was a bit devestated to leave the courtesy VW Passat 1.9 Tdi 130bhp for my Rover 25 2.0TD....felt like driving a tractor. That Passat won me over - not something i'd consider owning but a helluva nice drive and surprisingly fast too. I believe it won 'What Car' car of the year a year or to ago. Not surprised, if you've got a family or are just a practical person its a decent motor. Its just made me MORE determined to get rid of mine soon.
